Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Jennifer began her love of the outdoors at a young age – camping and hiking every summer around Mount Rainier, the Olympic Peninsula, and the Oregon Coast while bird watching and drawing and painting animals at every opportunity. After briefly following her love of animals (and science and math) into college, it was there she re-kindled her love of art and earned a B.F.A. in painting at the University of Washington under the direction of Eugene Pizzuto. While she later drifted away from art in her adult years, she finally came back to painting and eventually decided to pursue an art career full time in 2006. Jennifer now happily lives and works in Corvallis, Oregon with her husband of over 25 years and enjoys her time painting, hiking, following the activities and concerts of her two children, and playing with her two cats and dog.
Original Acrylic, Oil & Mixed Media Paintings
An established acrylic painter, always inspired by nature, Jennifer is pushing the boundaries of her latest work. Moving to using oil paints with hand carved stamps, stencils, printing press, and collaged papers and fibers, Jennifer works to enhance the patterns, colors, and textures of a piece while also exploring the emotional and story elements of her art journey. Her award winning work is well loved and collected worldwide as well as locally in the Northwest where she spends most her time.
“I create paintings with layers of color and texture while emphasizing the natural forms I prefer. Each painting is an exploratory process with each brush stroke being informed by the previous one, keeping it honestly rooted in the organic nature of my subject matter. A painting is not planned, but rather, explored.” ~ Jennifer
